Dip Powder

Prep Nails

As always let’s start by prepping our nails. Push back your cuticles and lightly buff the nail surface to remove shine. Clean the nails with alcohol to eliminate oils and dust. Prepping properly makes all the difference, so don’t skip this part! For more detailed tutorial please watch How to prep your nails lesson.

Apply Build Powder

Apply a thin layer of dip base to about three-quarters of your nail, and then dip into the Build Powder at a 45-degree angle. Tap off the excess powder and let it set.

Once it’s dry, brush away any loose powder and repeat for stronger nails. This layer helps protect your nails and gives you a smooth surface to work on.

Simple Glitter Application: Apply Color Powder

Apply a layer of dip base close to your cuticle—one nail at a time—and dip into your chosen Chrome Dipping Powder shade. Tap off the excess, let it set, and then brush away any extra powder. Repeat the layers until you’ve reached the perfect glittery opacity.

Simple Glitter Application: Apply Activator & Shape

Now, apply activator generously to all nails and wait for it to harden. Shape your nails with a file, buff out any imperfections, and then apply another layer of activator to help harden the top coat.

Simple Glitter Application: Apply Top Coat

Finish with two thin coats of dip top coat for a beautiful, durable shine. And just like that, you’ve got a sparkling, glittery look!

Chrome Application: Apply Color Powder

Apply a layer of dip base close to your cuticle—one nail at a time—and dip into your chosen Chrome Dipping Powder shade. Tap off the excess, let it set, and then brush away any extra powder. Repeat the layers until you’ve reached the perfect glittery opacity.

Chrome Application: Apply Activator & Shape

Apply Activator generously to all nails, ensuring that all layers are thoroughly saturated. Wait for the powder to fully harden. Test by tapping on the nail to hear it click. Shape and file your nails, but don’t buff the surface—you need a textured surface for gel to adhere.

Chrome Application: Apply Forever Glaze No Wipe Gel Top Coat

Apply a no-wipe gel top coat, and cure it under your lamp for 25 seconds.

Chrome Application: Chrome Effect

After curing the gel top coat, dip the nail into the jar a couple of times to pick up the chrome powder. Using Chrome Applicator Wand, start rubbing the chrome powder onto the cured nail surface. Keep rubbing gently until the chrome effect fully appears.

Once you have achieved the chrome effect, use a buffer or a fine grit nail file to gently etch the free edge of the nail. Thoroughly remove excess powder and dust. Apply a coat of Top Coat to seal the chrome effect. Paint over the edge of your nail for a chip-resistant finish. Cure for 60 seconds. Optionally, apply a second coat of Top Coat, wrap the free edge, and cure for 60 seconds to help prevent chipping.
