How To Marble Your Manicure With Dip Powder

Getting a gorgeous marble look for your next manicure is easy. You just need a few essentials. Grab these tools and follow these simple steps.

Tools and Materials

Having the right tools on hand is key to getting the best look every time. Here are the tools you’ll need for your next dip powder manicure

  • Manicure Kit, including a file, brush, and cuticle pusher
  • Plastic spoon
  • Top, base, and activator liquids
  • Build powder
  • Your favorite powder colors—we recommend starting with black and white

Steps

Step One: Prepare your nails by pushing back your cuticles.

Step Two: Apply your base liquid to about ¾ of the nail across your entire set and dip each nail into the base powder immediately after the liquid.

Step Three: Apply a full coat of the base liquid and then dip each nail into the base color of your marble design. If you’re using neutrals, white is a good choice, but black can be bold and dramatic. Clean your nails off with a brush or paper towel.

Step Four: Scoop your base color into the spoon and then add small amounts of your marble color in. Mix the two together for a marble design.

Step Five: Apply your base coat on the dried nails and dip them one by one into the marble powder, refreshing the colors as necessary.

Step Six: Add another layer of base coat and then dip your nails into the build powder again to set the design.

Step Seven: Brush off excess powder and apply a layer of activator liquid. Allow it to dry completely.

Step Eight: Buff and file your nails and then apply a layer of top coat. Wait five minutes and apply a second layer of top coat.
