Place Paper Towel & Acetone In
Place the warmer on a level, heat-resistant, and clutter-free surface. To prevent damage to furniture, place a towel or paper towel underneath the warmer.
Next, place a paper towel into the bottom of the bowl to cover the bottom. Pour just enough acetone into the ceramic bowl to cover the nail surface. Place a lid securely on the bowl.
Turn On Device
Start the device by inserting the plug into the wall outlet. Turn the switch once until you hear it click. The indicator light should illuminate to signify the heating element turning on. Wait for the acetone to warm up to a comfortable warm temperature. Warming times will vary based on how much acetone is in the bowl and the ambient temperature of the room, but this shouldn’t take longer than 5-10 minutes. While the Magic Soak is heating in the meantime you can prep your nails for removal.
Prep Nails for Removal
We want to reduce exposure to drying acetone so proper prep before soaking is super important.
File off top layers of the product using a gritty nail file. File back and forth across the nail until you remove most of the bulk. It's recommended to use a sharp nail file to make the process more efficient. Be careful not to file the natural nail. If you want shorter nails, trim the tips before filing. The nail tips, similar to hair ends, are oldest and dry, making removal more difficult.
Apply Blissful Blooms Cuticle Oil or hand cream on the skin around the nails. This prevents residue from sticking to your skin and keeps cuticles from drying out.
Submerge Hands
Once you are done, check if the acetone has reached a warm temperature to the touch and submerge your fingers in the acetone inside the ceramic bowl. To speed up removal, rub your nails against the paper towel placed at the bottom of the ceramic bowl. This will absorb the dissolved product from your nails and help to penetrate the acetone deeper.
For stubborn acrylic or gel, withdraw your nails from the acetone and use the scraper tool gently scrape off the product towards the tip of the nail.
Re-soak your nails as needed until all the product is fully dissolved off the nail. Remember that product will start hardening back up when exposed to air, so don’t keep your hand outside the bowl for too long and only scrape one nail at the time.
Switch Hands
During the removal process, it is important to be gentle and patient. Never force, pick, or peel the product off the natural nail. Picking can cause damage to your natural nails. Re-soak your nails as needed until all the product is fully dissolved off the nail.
You can reuse the acetone for your other hand. Feel free to remove and replace the paper towel inside the bowl to avoid transferring any melted product onto your other hand.
Wash your hands with soap and warm water. This not only cleanses the skin but also prepares it for cuticle care. Damp skin softens the cuticles, making them easier to trim and push back. If you plan to trim or push back your cuticles, now is the ideal time to do so.
Warming times will vary based on how much acetone is in the bowl and the ambient temperature of the room, but this shouldn’t take longer than 5-10 minutes. That’s why we recommend setting up the Magic Remover first before you start prepping and soaking your nails.
Unlike a nail steamer, the Magic Soak Manicure Remover does not boil acetone, resulting in less odor. Steamer removers generally take longer and dry out the skin more due to higher temperatures. In a steamer, your nails don't directly touch the liquid acetone only the vapours, so it takes longer to work. The Magic Soak is more efficient especially for dip removal because the dip powder is agitated by rubbing against the paper towel. The Magic Soak is also easier to clean with its separate warming base and ceramic bowl design.
No, you cannot. Unlike regular nail polish, dip powder and gel polish are long-lasting and can only be removed with a good quality cosmetic acetone. For best results, use Nailboo Pro Soak Acetone Remover or any other 100% pure cosmetic-grade acetone.
Several factors can affect removal time. First, check if the product is designed to be soaked off in acetone. Some products, like hard builder gel or gel polish top coats, don’t break down in acetone at all and could be the cause. Another thing is the more layers on your nails, the longer it will take for the acetone to penetrate. Filing off some layers while waiting for the bowl to heat up can will speed up the process exponentially. Always make sure you’re using pure acetone and also remember to rub your nails on the paper towel to agitate the coating and speed up the removal.
Gently heating the acetone is just as safe as using it at room temperature and has a benefit of working faster. Warm acetone removes coatings faster, limiting your exposure to the drying acetone.

The soak-off process is designed to be gentler on your skin compared to traditional methods by minimizing the time required in acetone. Because acetone can dissolve dip powder they also dissolve your skin’s natural oils. To further protect your skin, it's recommended to apply cuticle oil and hand cream around your nails before soaking. This creates a barrier that helps prevent drying caused by the acetone.
The Magic Soak Manicure Remover can remove a variety of nail products, including gel polish, dip powder, acrylics, solid air-dry nail polish, and press-on nails. As long as the product on your nails can be removed with acetone, this device will work effectively.
If your nails feel weak after using the soak-off bowl, apply a generous amount of cuticle oil or moisturizing hand cream to replenish moisture. Remember, nails are a non-breathing, non-regenerating keratinous structure, so any damage will persist until the nail fully grows out. To maintain nail health, always buff lightly, handle product removal with care and patience, and never forcefully peel off enhancements.
If you have sensitive skin or allergies, you should proceed with caution. Make sure to use pure cosmetic-grade acetone and test on a small area first. Applying a protective barrier like cuticle oil before soaking can also help minimize any potential irritation. If you experience any adverse reactions, discontinue use immediately.
